JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi State Auditor Shad White has been recognized by the State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) for identifying over $400 million in waste across state government, as highlighted in SFOF’s inaugural 2025 Oversight Report.
“It’s an honor to be named among the State Auditors fighting the rampant fraud, waste, and abuse in government,” said State Auditor Shad White. “From Vice President Vance’s leadership on the anti-fraud task force to state-level officers, fraud now has nowhere to hide.”
The SFOF 2025 Oversight Report details achievements from state financial officers. The report recognizes State Auditor Shad White for the “MOGE” report, a compilation of audits showing over $400 million in government waste identified by the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor. The 2025 Oversight Report also highlighted Auditor White’s efforts at identifying nonprofits wasting taxpayer money.
“Auditor White’s work reflects the vital role of an independent auditor in safeguarding public resources, promoting accountability, and ensuring that every dollar entrusted to government serves its intended purpose,” the Oversight Report said.
The SFOF 2025 Oversight Report highlights accomplishments from 40 financial officers from 28 states that oversee more than $3 trillion in state funds. The full report can be found online.
